MTS AI has launched Kodify 2, its new generation AI assistant for developers. The updated AI assistant has 7 billion parameters, can handle contexts up to 32,000 tokens long, supports 90 programming languages and comes with an integrated OpenAI-compatible API for easy integration with other systems. MTS-affiliated development teams have been using the previous version of Kodify since 2024. Now, MTS AI wants to market this product: the new AI assistant will be available to third party clients.
Kodify 2 has all key functionalities to automate and accelerate software development, including code autocompletion, debugging, test and document generation, code optimization for better performance and text-to-code translation. Comparative testing using LLM-as-a-Judge approach demonstrated that Kodify 2’s capabilities were comparable to those of GitHub Copilot, one of the leading AI solutions for developers. Kodify 2’s test generation and its text-to-code translation capabilities were equal or better in 57% and 48% of cases, respectively.
“The amount of code MTS generates using artificial intelligence is growing all the time. In the 1st quarter of 2025, we improved that parameter from 8% to 15% using AI assistants, including Kodify 2. AI assistants help us save one of the most valuable resources: software engineers’ time. By delegating routine functions to artificial intelligence, developers free up to 4 hours a week. They can spend this time doing something more complex and creative,” said Pavel Voronin, CEO at MTS Web Services.
According to MTS AI, the AI developer assistant market in Russia will be worth RUB 17.4 billion in 2025. Out of that amount, on-premise solutions take up RUB 13.9 billion, and cloud solutions, RUB 3.5 billion. MTS AI can claim 10% of that market.
